Job Description – Senior Scheduler

Position in organization: Senior Scheduler / Scheduling Manager

Reports to: Operations Director

Subordinates: None
Parallel positions: Contracts Manager, Transport Manager

Experience
Ideally coming from an industrial or manufacturing environment with some factory planning experience. This role requires someone who is used to dealing with multiple inputs when compiling the schedule, someone from an A-B logistics background would not be suitable. Experience of dealing directly with customers and subcontractors is a prerequisite for this role as is being used to running a national schedule.

Experience of scheduling high volume and high frequency projects nationally in the UK (must)
Experience of process development in SME environment (must)

Responsibilities
– Scheduling according to KPIs for daily and weekly performance
– Responsible for scheduling of all delivery resources including customers, other third parties,
subcontractors and internal people and plant
– Calling and communicating to Contract Managers, technicians and supervisory techs to
agree and confirm availability to deliver jobs
– Calling and communicating clients to agree delivery times
– Calling and communicating to subcontractors to agree delivery times
– Keeping clients updated on the progress and changes of delivery v. schedule
– Forecasting and ordering polymer and injection tubes (drills and others for maintenance)
– Subcontractor scheduling and performance management
– Fleet & Plant maintenance planning with Transport Manager
– Accident and near miss reporting
– Scheduling training of people
– Scheduling of holidays
– Adherence to internal and external policies and procedures
– Updating of CRM for all works
– Arrange parking suspensions, Build Over Notices,
– Tracking vehicles

KPI (definition work in progress)
– responsiveness; lead time from order to delivery (Target TBC)
– responsiveness; time to respond customer queries (< 1 hour)
– Reducing overall travel time to 30% of payroll (current 50%)
