Geobear is a privately owned global contractor offering innovative, cost-effective and socially responsible ground stabilisation solutions for residential, commercial and infrastructure customers, and has been operating in the UK for over 30 years. The business is growing rapidly and requires a UK Managing Director for its award-winning residential sector to drive the scale, efficiency and profitability of its operations to enable significant expansion of the business.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, the MD Residential will be responsible for:

  • Attracting, retaining and training the best available people
  • Building market-leading safety culture
  • Ensuring detailed execution of strategy
  • Generating and preserving cash for growth
  • Implementing Geobear Sales Excellence and Operational Excellence Systems
  • Developing and implementing a winning divisional strategy
  • Scaling up the business and improving turnover and profitability
  • Winning and managing key accounts
  • Managing quality and delivery of operations, ensuring seamless flow from initial enquiry to completion of work
  • Implementing global best practice
  • Digitisation of sales – delivery process

The Person

You will ideally have:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification (M.Sc, B.Sc, C.Eng or similar technical degree)
  • Experience ideally with a Tier 1 ground engineering contractor, utilities infrastructure contractor, large housebuilder or other relevant construction background
  • Proven leadership strengths through business growth and change
  • Experience of managing P&L and improving profitability
