Geobear is delighted to be shortlisted for an award at the 2022 Rail Business Awards.We have been nominated in the Asset Management and Excellence category, where our work on the West Coast Mainline Shugborough Tunnel was recognised.
The Shugborough Tunnel project has been noted as an industry first and embodies an innovative approach to asset repair and maintenance that permits the ongoing use of a key asset whilst maintenance works were carried out during overnight possessions.
The project involved the use of Geobear expansive geopolymer material to fill disused tunnel shafts below the Shugborough Estate, now a National Trust site. Furthermore, the Geobear teams also filled the voids behind the tunnel annulus to prevent water ingress through the existing construction.
