Today is World Health Day.
World Health Day is celebrated annually. It marks the anniversary of the World Health Organisation (WHO) which was founded in 1948. The WHO is the leading global health authority within the United Nations. The purpose of the organization is to control health and communicable diseases across the globe. The WHO uses its anniversary not only as a day of celebration but as an opportunity to highlight a current global health priority.
On 30th January 2020 the WHO declared the outbreak of COVID-19 a Public Health Emergency of International concern.
For the last year, Governments around the world have been working with Health Professionals to control the spread.
As part of Geobear’s commitment to ensuring our employees and customers’ health and safety, all our customer-facing staff now take weekly lateral flow tests.
The test results are uploaded onto our company drive, and any staff member testing positive is asked to self isolate in line with government guidelines. All negative and invalid tests are also recorded.
By monitoring this way, we can ensure we are doing our utmost to keep our team and you safe.
Regarding the broader COVID-19 response, we are assisting Public Health England to build up data of who is presenting the virus asymptomatically. By isolating those people, we help restrict any unintentional spread of the virus, reducing the number of cases and relieving the NHS’s pressure.
